Amanda has a background working with chronic illness, bereavement, disability and vocational rehabilitation. It is through this experience that she gained an awareness of the great need in the community for assistance to develop strategies to successfully manage change and set down the foundations for a happy and healthy life that is sustainable.
Having had a variety of training experiences with the broader community as well as professional groups, Amanda's preference is for interactive training methods that assist the audience to directly apply the topic presented. Feedback from participants has indicated that she is approachable, dynamic, and made the content of presentations accessible to all that attended.
Amanda is also involved in a number of professional development activities to enhance mental health services in her community. She regularly undertakes peer supervision, provides mentoring to Curtin University Psychology students, coordinates a Mental Health Professionals Network in her local area, and attends committee meetings for Youth Specific Services in her catchment area.
Amanda is based in Mundaring, and is available to travel to speaking engagements across Western Australia or via Skype.
