The centre of the Resilience Doughnut represents the person’s beliefs, the way they see the world and how they see themselves in this world.
The outside of the Resilience Doughnut is made up of 7 factors that identify the areas of influence around a person’s life – factors of parenting, skills, community, family, peers, school and finances. These factors all combine to affect the person and how they cope in a day to day situation.
The Resilience Doughnut is a tool for discovering the strength factors in the outer world of each person and how these strengths can be combined to build resilience and develop coping strategies for the future.
The Resilience Doughnut model is being used by practitioners all around Australia and is quickly spreading to other countries, including Japan, South Africa and the UK.
The Resilience Doughnut is based on the premise - “If something is working, do more of it”
