Building Resilient Kids - Wed Sep 1st and 8th 2010 - Sydney

Week one covered 'The Resilience Doughnut' and week two's topic was 'Negotiating the Peer Group'. Both parents and teachers attended this thought provoking workshop on how we encourage children to develop resilience, coping skills and social awareness.

Lyn Worsley was invited by the Institute of Mental Health, Singapore to present the Resilience Doughnut at their forum on Children, Youth and Resilience.

Creative Resources workshop - Fri Aug 27th 2010 - Sydney

Ruth Fordyce presented the Resilience Doughnut as part of a workshop "Creative Resources for Working with Children and Adolescents". This workshop was organised by the Child Adolescent and Family Psychology Interest Group, which is a member group of the Australian Psychological Society.

Bouncing Back - Wed August 18th & 25th 2010 - Pinjarra WA

Resilient kids are optimistic and do better at school. They are resourceful and persist when faced with challenges. This two session course will help you identify the resources and coping skills your children need to deal with difficulties. All participants will be given a simple tool to help increase their child’s resilience.

Creating the Future Today conference - Aug 12th-13th 2010 - Mudgee

Ruth Fordyce presented a keynote and two workshops at this motivational conference for Primary & Central School Principals and their Executive Staff in the Western Region of NSW. Ruth also met with a team of school counsellors from the region. There was a wonderful response to the Resilience Doughnut from all!

Youthworks workshop - Wed May 5th 2010 - Nowra

Youthworks sponsored this complimentary, fully-catered one-day workshop at their fabulous Waterslea conference venue near Nowra. Ruth Fordyce presented the Resilience Doughnut, a practical, strengths-based Australian model for building resilience in children and young people. Everyone who attended was impressed with the calibre of this workshop, from the wonderful facilities and excellent food, to the engaging presentation and discussion amongst participants!

Parents Promoting Resilience - Mon Aug 9th 2010 - Sydney

Ruth Fordyce presented an evening seminar for parents of students in years K-12 at the Emanuel School in Randwick, Sydney.

Building Resilience conference - April 15th-16th 2010 - Sydney

The Resilience Doughnut team were invited to present at "Building Resilience - From Surviving to Thriving", a conference organised by the Mental Health Association NSW. It was a wonderful event with an impressive array of speakers, who addressed resilience in the workplace, schools, community and culture.

Parents Promoting Resilience - Fri Aug 6th 2010 - Sydney

This seminar highlighted some of the resources and coping skills that help children to deal with difficulties. Presented by Sarah Piper, a psychologist and mum of four with a specific interest and passion for the healthy development and resilience of children.
